Marcin Wierzbicki

Marcin Wierzbicki was born in 1969 in Lublin (Poland). He studied com?po?si?tion with Prof. Marian Borkowski at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (1989-1994; Master of Arts in 1994). He took part in many courses for young composers (a.o. in Kazimierz Dolny, Darmstadt, Krakow, Warsaw, Helsinki, IRCAM/Paris) and has been a delegate for International Computer Music Conference (twice ? 2000, Berlin and 2002, Gothen?burg). Since 1994 he has been teaching electroacoustic composition at AMFC Computer Music Stu?dio. Currently Wierzbicki has completed his postgraduate studies and acquires PhD in music.


Marcin Wierzbicki is the winner of 2nd Prize in Composers? Competition ?Music for Gardens? (Krakow, 2001) for Seven Spring Landscapes, winner of 2nd Prize in ?T. Baird Composers? Competition? (Warsaw, 2001 ? edition for electroacoustic piece) for Synapsis, and also winner of 3rd Prize in ?A. Panufnik Young Composers? Competition? (Krakow, 2002) for Three geometric tales.
